About the Varano Circuit
This track was built in 1969 and has since seen many of the most notable motorsport icons race this track. It has been FIA-certified, designed in the best way to be as challenging as it is forgiving. 1. Maserati Concept Cars: Maserati Boomerang
This concept car was released in 1971 at the Turin Motor Show, but it began attracting significant attention from the Geneva Motor Show. What drew people to this concept car the most was the unique wedge-shaped and sharp creases along the exterior. While it was initially listed as a road car, this car was only meant to be a one-off show car. This concept is a design that was created by Giorgetto Giugiaro and would inspire his future designs for years to come.
2. Maserati Birdcage 75th
Designed by the Pininfarina team, this was a functional concept car that the team designed, led by Lowie Vermeersch. At the 2005 Geneva Auto Show, this car that was made to honor the iconic Maserati Birdcage race car famous from the 60s was introduced. It was a project that was completed with a collaboration between Motorola, Pininfarina, and Maserati. Surprisingly. It only took about two months to complete this car, using 3D renderings.
3. Maserati Concept Cars: Maserati A8 GCS Touring
The Pininfarina design inspired the A8 GCS Touring in 1954 for the A6 GCS. While it was first introduced in 2008, the final concept came a year later, offering a 4.2-liter V8 engine that provided 385 horsepower.
4. Maserati Alfieri Electric
The original concept for the Alfieri was introduced in 2014, but this concept is intended to hit the market eventually. The non-electric version may be released sometime in 2020, with the electric version coming the year after. The goal for this concept was to take not only the performance that Maserati boasts but to take this into the electric market. There are also plans to potentially create a hybrid version of this sleek and stylish car as well.
5. Maserati Concept Cars: Maserati Kubang
The Kubang was initially revealed in 2011 at the Frankfurt Auto Show. This car, which hasn’t been introduced for production, came from the Maserati Fiat subsidiary. The original Kubang was introduced back in 2003 in the form of a GT Wagon, but this was a more modern update into the famous SUV market. This update led to the 2015 release of the Maserati Levante. This design aimed to maintain the stunning look and power of Maserati and gave fans the SUV they didn’t know they needed.

A Historical Timeline of the Maserati Brand
Every product has a name, and sometimes certain products are well recognized and are identified as a name brand, be it a maker of bikes, cars, jet engines, or anything else.
Similarly, like other cars, Maserati has a name too, which took up decades of hard work for it to become what it is today. Let’s take a look at the historical movements and understand how Maserati started from scratch and how it reached here. Here are some highlights from Maserati history.
Behind the Maserati Name
“Maserati” is the surname or the family name which got recognized by their father, who was a railroad worker named “Rodolfo Maserati.” Rodolfo and his wife Carolina Losi had seven children, and fortunately, all his kids were passionate about speed and precision engineering who helped take the name ahead. These events occurred during the early 1900s. Around 1914, the first shop/workshop was opened in Bologna and named “Societa Anonima Officine Alfieri Maserati.” Perseverance and hard work pay off eventually.
The First Maserati Car
In 1926, the first car was named “Tipo 26” by Alfieri, Ettore, and Ernesto, who all worked tirelessly and delivered the first-ever Maserati, which also sported the trident logo for the first time. In 1937, Adolfo Orsi purchased the Maserati from the Maserati brothers. Come 1939, Maserati was officially moved from Bologna to Modena. Until then, the Maserati had competition from other sports modeled race cars like Boyle Special, and Borzacchini.
The first Maserati, which wasn’t a race car, but was meant for daily use, was revealed at the Geneva Motor show in 1947 and was named after Alfieri. It was quite a successful model.
Maserati History: 1957 Geneva Motor Show
In 1957, another model was showcased at the Geneva Motor show that increased the demand for Maseratis. The model here referred to was the 3500 GT. Then there was a sedan, “Quattroporte,” released in 1963 and showcased at Turin Motor show. The Maserati Bora in 1971 was presented at the Geneva Motor show and is currently being run by Adolfo Maserati and his son, who stepped down.
Some cars are personally preferred by state-level executives, which go all the way and become an elite brand. Maserati is one such brand that was favored by the President of the Republic of Italy, Sandro Pertini, who selected Quattroporte III as his presidential limousine. Later on, some internal changes took place and resulted in a partnership between Ferrari and Maserati, who were known as rivals earlier. In 1998, a coupe 3200 GT designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro presented the car at the Paris Motor show that came in with a Ferrari engine.
Modern Maserati Era
In 2003, the first Maserati designed by Pinifarina in the last 50 years was showcased at the Frankfurt Motor show. In 2007, Geneva became the stage for Pininfarina to create Grand Turismo, Maserati’s grand tourer. In 2016 and 2017, the Levante was launched at the Geneva Motor show. Also, the SUVs and the and the restyled GranTurismo were presented.

It is available for the Maserati models Levante, Ghibli, and Quattroporte for the MY19 system. In the Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio, the system that allows you to use their POI is called MY18 and allows the toy to choose your destination from a list of public places and other locations.
There are different ways to use the Maserati infotainment system, depending on if you use an Apple or an Android phone. If you use an Apple iPhone, then you need Apple CarPlay TM. Apple CarPlay TM is available for the Maserati Levante, Ghibli, and Quattroporte. Apple CarPlay TM will utilize the Maserati Touch Control Plus display screen and can even use Siri voice control. The Maserati infotainment system will allow you to have phone conversations, access music, respond to messages, and even give you real-time traffic updates and conditions, all while you stay safely focused on the road.
Android Auto
Android phone users can consider using Android Auto TM. Andriod Auto TM works in the same Maserati models as the Apple CarPlay TM does, the Maserati Levante, Ghibli, and Quattroporte. Differences between the two are that the Android Auto TM app allows you to access Google, and it utilizes Google Maps, so you have voice-guided navigation. Also, you get real-time traffic updates and notifications. You can share information easily while driving, as well as access millions of songs on demand in Google’s play music app.
Maserati Infotainment System
All Maserati models will allow you to program your route guidance and will enable you to enter favorites, under the NAV menu. Simply touch the soft key called, “Where to,” available on the touch screen. With the Maserati Infotainment System, you can drag any of the controls that you often use into the quick buttons. It also has a climate button that controls the temperature inside the car. The Maserati Infotainment System has the outside temperature and compass on top at all times, as well as the current radio station and the current time.
